A Good Start
Signed the apartment lease this weekend! We move in June 7, but my parents failed to inform me that they are going to the Caribbean on June 6th and won't be back until the 14th, and that my sister is going to be in South Beach until the 9th. I have to babysit my dog, so I'm going to have to just move some of my stuff into the new place on the 7th and then drive back home that night.

I've been filling out job applications like mad so I can ~*contribute*~ and not feel like I'm taking horrible advantage of my parents because my apartment is expensive as fuck.

School is over in a few weeks. All my major papers and presentations are out of the way, so I only have a few more one page papers and assignments to worry about from here on out. I signed up for classes on Wednesday and miraculously got all of the classes I wanted...even the coveted POLS302 class! I've decided to be a political science and history double major.

The Most Natural Thing...But Nothing We'd Expect
Emily and I signed a 12 month lease on our new apartment. It is a beautiful specimen, but so terribly expensive. It's got a split layout so we don't have any shared bedroom walls, a washer and dryer, an alarm system, and it's in the back, so we get views of trees instead of the street. We move into it in June.

My mom said she would pay for everything related to the apartment, but that I would have to pay for food...which is actually a pretty awesome deal. I still offered to pay the utilities, though; I feel really bad for making my parents pay that much money for me to live off-campus. I picked up like 12 job applications yesterday, so we'll see how that pans out.

The whole apartment is definitely going to be Ikea and Craigslist, though!!!

You Are An ISTJ

The Duty Fulfiller

You are responsible, reliable, and hardworking - you get the job done.

You prefer productive hobbies, like woodworking or knittings.

Quiet and serious, you are well prepared for whatever life hands you.

Conservative and down-to-earth, you hardly ever do anything crazy.

In love, you are loyal and honest. If you commit yourself to someone, then you're fully committed.

For you, love is something that happens naturally. And you don't need romantic gestures to feel loved.

At work, you remember details well and are happy to take on any responsibility.

You would make a great business executive, accountant, or lawyer.

How you see yourself: Decisive, stable, and dependable

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Boring, conservative, and egotistical

This Bitter Drink Has Made You Drunk
I am so, so tired. What is wrong with me? Blaaah.

The Academy Awards were on last night. I'm so glad Daniel Day-Lewis won; he's an amazing actor. I'm still sad that Eddie Vedder's soundtrack for Into the Wild got overlooked because of ineligibility, and that James McAvoy wasn't at least nominated for his role in Atonement. If Ellen Page could get nominated, then he should have been, as well. Same goes for Emile Hirsch, who was amazing in Into the Wild.

I absolutely loved Atonement, and I guess I should be glad it won the award for best score...but seriously, guys. I guess I should go see No Country for Old Men to see what all the fuss is about.

Also...can I say how happy I am that Starbucks is closing all locations on the tomorrow for mandatory re-training of employees? I cannot even count the numbers of times my coffee has tasted so bad that it made me wish that I had a gift card to Peet's...and that the nearest Peet's Coffee wasn't a 10 minute drive away .
